The Rolex Submariner Date reference 16610 in stainless steel with the black dial and black aluminium bezel insert. Introduced in the late 1980s, the 16610 brought the sapphire crystal and quickset date to the Submariner and stayed in production for around two decades, making it one of the longest-running and most loved Submariner references of all time. It is the last of the classic aluminium-bezel Submariner Dates before Rolex moved to ceramic, and many collectors prefer its slimmer case and lugs and the way the aluminium insert ages. The glossy black dial carries the classic Submariner layout of circles, batons and the triangle at 12, with the date under the Cyclops lens at 3 o'clock. The unidirectional rotating bezel, screw-down crown with crown guards and 300 metres of water resistance make it a true dive watch, finished on the Oyster bracelet with folding clasp. This D serial example dates to 2005 and presents in excellent condition. It is covered by our 12-month in-house warranty.
