Rolex 116610LN Submariner Date “Deepsea Challenge Expedition” 40mm 2012 Box & Papers Part of the watches given by James Cameron for the team on the Deepsea Challenge in 2012, a historic expedition culminating in a solo dive on March 26 to the deepest part of the Mariana Trench (Challenger Deep, ~10.9 km/35,787 ft) in the custom-built Deepsea Challenger submersible. The mission was a scientific and engineering feat, achieving the first solo descent to Earth’s deepest point. The Submersible used was Designed in Sydney, Australia, by Cameron and engineer Ron Allum, it was built to withstand immense pressure (1,000 times surface pressure). Watch delivered directly to Rolex Australia with unique 809 country code, this specific example belonged to one of the engineers on the team. Copy of delivery from Switzerland included.
