Grand Seiko Heritage Collection 45GS SLGW005 The original 45GS is of the most beautiful Grand Seiko pieces ever made, and highly sought after for good reason. The 45GS family featured Hi-Beat manual wind movements, and were produced from 1968-1973 in the famed Daini Seikosha factory who also made the 44GS. While looking quite similar to the 44GS, the 45GS series was quite a bit thinner thanks to its manual wind movement. In 2024 Grand Seiko decided to re-issue this historically significant reference with the SLGW005, and was met with huge applause from the GS collector community. It was released in a limited run of 1,200 pieces, and sold out immediately. It's a very faithful re-issue aesthetically, though now features a larger 38.8mm x 10.4mm case to suit modern tastes, and in place of the original 4520 movement featured in the first 45GS it now features the bang-up-to-date 9SA4 manual wind with its proprietary Dual Impulse escapement, overcoil hairspring, and wonderfully tactile winding click.
