Formex Essence Leggera FortyOne Space Gold 41mm A family owned micro-brand hailing from Biene in Switzerland, Formex pride themselves on innovation and engineering solutions while constructing their watches entirely in Switzerland. The Leggera is an update to their popluar Essence line of daily sports pieces, and as the name suggests, is an ultra-lightweight version crafted in a carbon composite. Sized at 41mm, with a height of just 11mm, the case is constructed of a proprietary carbon composite that allows the case itself to weigh just 40 grams. Atop this sits a bezel made of scratch-proof Zirconium Oxide ceramic, with a matching crown. The case is interesting for more reasons than just the material, as it utilises Formex's patented case suspension system. This works by integrating four springs between the upper and lower watch case, which aids in not only shock absorption for the mechanical movement, but also helps it conform to the wrist especially as your wrist expands with heat, or movement.
