Straum Jan Mayen Alpine Glow You may not be familiar with Straum as they haven't been around very long, but the micro-brand from Norway are making a splash in the horological scene with their first few lines of watches 'largely selling out, and are being met with praise from whomever has a chance to handle them. The version we have here is the Jan Mayen Alpine Glow, and features a 38.7mm case made from 316L stainless steel, with a height of 11.5mm and a 45.7mm lug-to-lug. Within this case lies a stamped steel dial stamped in multiple stages with increasing detailing, and is designed to evoke the stillness that follows as the sun slips below the horizon in the Arctic. It's powered by a Manufacture La Joux-Perret S.A. LJP G101 automatic movement with 68 hour power reserve, and finished off with an integrated steel bracelet with a taper from just under 25mm at the lugs to 18mm at the clasp. This particular one-owner example was delivered in July 2026 and remains in TZ 'Near Mint' condition, with only the lightest hints of use present on the case and bracelet.
