Omega Seamaster Montreal Chrono-Quartz 'Albatross' 196.0052 Created for the 1976 Montreal Olympics, the 196.0052 Chrono-Quartz from Omega was one of the worlds first ana-digi (analogue and digital) watch. While you may not think this is particularly special, combining analogue and digital displays, what is so interesting about this watch is that it doesn't just use a quartz movement to display an analogue time, it essentially uses two different movements which use a single quartz resonator. It really is a fascinating movement, and used only in this watch. The digital displays on the left can be used for various timing features such as standard chronograph timing, split timing, lap timing etc, or to display the running seconds. The analog half is similar to other Omega quartz movements from the time; the minute hand is advanced by pushing the crown, while the hour hand can be adjusted in one hour increments by pulling and turning the crown. This is all housed in a steel case measuring in at 51mm including the pushers and crown, with a height of around 47mm including the lugs and a thickness of around 12mm, and is mounted a 1300/212 bracelet.
