Ming 22.01 GMT Gilt Revisiting a complication Ming first released in 2018, the 2023 release 22.01 is one of our favourite releases from Ming to date. Bridging the gap between the 37 series and 17 series of watches, it features a compact and perfectly perfectly proportioned 38mm case made of titanium, measuring 43.9mm lug-to-lug and is a scant 10.7mm thick. It's a monoblock design and uses no spacers, showing the precision machining Mings suppliers are capable of. Housed within this case is a composite 3-part dial, with a metal base, topped with sapphire, and this delivers a layered effect from it's internal reflections, and allows the dial to almost disappear under certain lighting. It is a very cool effect. The minute and hour track is actually etched into the sapphire crystal, which reflects on the lower sapphire layer, and again created optical effects that really need to be seen to be believed. It’s powered by the automatic-winding Cal. 330.M2 based on the Sellita SW330-2, with a black circular grained finish with a skeletonized rotor, and an independently adjusted GMT hand.
