Sarpaneva Stardust The Sarpaneva Stardust was created in celebration of the 20th Anniversary of Stepan Sarpaneva's eponymous brand, and is a fitting birthday celebration to one of the most creative, and coolest, brands in the horological world. Based on the smaller 42mm K3 case in Finnish Outokumpu steel, it tends to wear smaller than the specs suggest due to the very short lugs and scalloped case with a lug-to-lug of just 46mm, and a height of just 10mm. It utilises a screwdown crown at 4, enabling a healthy 100m of water resistance. Within this case lies one of Sarpaneva's most interesting dials to date. Created in seven parts, which are all hand finished. The titanium base dial is hand-flamed to create an array of colours wrought from different torch temperatures, designed to echo the deep-space constellations, with each dial being unique given it's hand-flamed nature. This is topped with Sarpaneva's signature latticework which picks up and plays with the light in the most amazing way. Sarpanevas hands are always a highlight, and on the Stardust that is no different. The hour and minute hands are sharp as a knife, with alternating brushed and polished surfaces. As cool as…
