Ming 37.05 Moonphase Series 2 Ming’s meteoric rise from micro-brand to fully-fledged independent powerhouse has been swift, and in our opinion well deserved. Their aesthetic is unlike any other, and provide a range of pieces from the quite affordable through to the recent run of higher end pieces, one of those being the piece we have here. The original 37.05 was released in 2021, and then updated in 2023 with a new dial in the Series 2 we have here. The classic 38mm case size remains, though with a thin bezel and large dial opening it wears a mm or two larger than that in reality. It measures in at 11.9mm thick, with a very slim mid-case making it appear even slimmer on the wrist. Within this complex steel case lies an anthracite brushed dial, with moonphase aperture above 6. More than just being a moonphase, the luminous disc that shows the phase of the moon also doubles up as a lumed disc to show off the star shaped cutouts in the dial, meaning they vary with the phases of the moon. Above this sits a sapphire upper dial for the hour indices, moon mask, inversion, and luminous HyCeram stars on its upper and lower surfaces to add further visual depth.
