The Tudor Big Block holds a special place in the brand’s history as the first automatic chronograph ever produced by the larger Rolex family. Introduced in 1976, it earned its nickname from the thicker case required to house the automatic movement. The reference 79180, produced through the 1990s, represents the final generation of Big Block chronographs—and the last Tudor chronographs to share design elements and parts directly with Rolex, including the Oyster case, screw-down pushers, and crown. A 1994 Tudor Oysterdate Big Block chronograph with a striking panda-style dial. The 40mm stainless steel Oyster case features a steel bezel, screw-down pushers, and a Rolex-signed crown and caseback. Powered by the automatic Valjoux 7750 movement with date and tachymeter functions. A complete full set in excellent condition.
