Rarely do we get a timepiece where we can say this is as good as it gets. But with this A. Lange & Söhne Richard Lange Tourbillon Pour Le Mérite, that's exactly what we see. A timepiece built to the highest possible standards in both design, engineering and finishing. The Glashütte-based brand is renowned for its range of incredible timepieces, but this particular model is exemplary even by the brand's own standards. The title "Pour le Merite" identifies it as the pinnacle of the Lange manufactory's horological accomplishments. Indeed, this timepiece represents the first time that the complications within have ever been combined in this manner. On the front we see an argenté-coloured silver dial that builds on the concept of scientific pocket watches with so-called "regulator" dials, arranged so that the hours, minutes and seconds each have their own sector and neatly overlap, ensuring superb legibility. Visible through the front dial aperture is the tourbillon whose total construction weighs in at only a quarter of a gram, ensuring minimal power draw and superb timekeeping accuracy.
