About this watch

The watch was produced as a numbered edition in association with the Solar Impulse HB-SIA project. This project developed an experimental aircraft designed to circumnavigate the globe powered solely by solar energy. The black carbon fibre dial includes a small seconds subdial, 30-minute and 12-hour chronograph recorders, central chronograph hands, and an independently adjustable GMT hand. A quick-set date window is also featured. The caseback is engraved with the patch of the Solar Impulse HB-SIA project. Its combination of features is totally unique within the Speedmaster range. Though on first glance it appears to have a classic Moonwatch case, it is actually slightly larger at 44mm (vs. 42) and made from titanium, making it incredibly light for its size. Powering the watch is the Omega calibre 3603 with Co-Axial escapement and a column-wheel chronograph mechanism. The movement also incorporates a GMT function and has a power reserve of approximately 52 hours.
