Cartier Tank Must 'Lapis' Manual Wind 23x30MM Circa 1980 The vermeil case is in good vintage condition with hairlines visible under angled light. This is honest wear for a forty-five year old Must de Cartier and is preferable to the alternative, since vermeil is gold over sterling silver and the plating is thin enough that polishing removes it rather than the marks. The case retains its shape and the brancard edges are defined. The leather strap is in excellent condition. The lapis dial is in great condition, with even colour and no crazing, lifting or blemishes around the Roman numerals or the Cartier signature. The hands are lightly oxidised, showing minor darkening along their length. This is a common and stable trait on blued steel hands of this period and does not affect legibility against the deep blue of the dial.
