Rolex Seadweller 16660 MK2 'Pallettoni' 40MM 1984 Presented at 40mm, this 1984 Sea-Dweller 16660 is a fine example of the transitional reference, produced during the short window when Rolex still fitted matte dials before the switch to gloss. Both the case and bracelet remain in great shape, revealing hairline marks from honest wear. The lugs retain pleasing definition, suggesting the case has not been subjected to heavy polishing over its life. The MK2 matte dial and hands are in excellent condition, with the printing crisp and the tritium plots aged evenly to a warm patina, matched by the hands. The bezel insert sits well against the case, and the crown screws down securely, as expected of the reference built for saturation diving. The Oyster bracelet is in great condition, showing light hairlines and some stretch consistent with age.
